Features and Advantages of the Sinotruk Howo Transmission

  • Double counterflow main frame structure: The symmetrically arranged counterflow shafts balance the radial forces on the input shaft and the main shaft gears. The input shaft and main shaft only support the torque without bending deformation; the intermediate bearing is subject to reduced bending moment, small bending deformation, and good meshing conditions.

  • Auxiliary frame planetary gear mechanism: This mechanism features a compact structure, low weight, high gear ratio, and high efficiency. Since one central gear meshes with five planetary gears simultaneously, the load capacity is increased.

The center gear and ring gear of the auxiliary frame are floating to ensure even load distribution on the planetary gear mechanism. The application of the auxiliary frame’s planetary gear mechanism and the rigid support of the output shaft’s large-extension bearing ensure the output shaft’s rigidity, significantly increasing the auxiliary frame gear’s service life and effectively resolving the short service life issues common in other products.

The gear sleeve and the corresponding gear spline hole are designed with large chamfers. Simultaneously, due to the floating movement of the main shaft and the main shaft gear, it plays a role in positioning and synchronization. The use of the gear sleeve reduces the failure rate of the main frame.

When the subframe shift fork shaft is not in place, the interlock plate is engaged by the shift fork shaft, locking the main frame shift fork shaft in the neutral position. Pushing the lock plate then allows the main frame to shift to the subframe and engage with the subframe as needed.

Self-locking structure

The self-locking device of the traditional operating mechanism uses a steel ball self-locking structure, which is prone to wear. The transmission adopts a sector-shaped self-locking block and a self-locking pin shaft for self-locking, and uses a sector-shaped self-locking block and housing to limit the position.

Interlock structure:

Interlocking is achieved using an interlock fork. In a neutral driving position, only the shift block is aligned with the slot in the interlock fork, and the shift block on the other shift fork shaft is locked by the inner wall of the interlock fork, remaining locked in the neutral position, thus achieving interlocking with a good interlocking effect.

Reverse gear lock:

Structurally, to ensure that reverse gear engages, it is necessary to overcome a greater spring force and the spring force of the high and low gear positioning ring to prevent accidental engagement of reverse gear.

Double H Valve:

When the interlock fork moves with the shift shaft to select a gear, it drives the spherical sliding cylinder of the double H valve to perform the high and low gear conversion. The newly adopted double H valve structure effectively solves the high failure rate due to leakage found in other double H valve products.

Howo transmission parts packaging

When packing Howo transmission parts, it is important to ensure they are properly protected to prevent any damage during shipping. The following are some steps for effectively packing Howo transmission parts:

  1. Clean the parts: Before packing, be sure to thoroughly clean the Howo transmission parts to remove any dirt, grease, or debris. This will help maintain the quality of the transmission parts during shipping.
  2. Use appropriate packaging materials: Select suitable packaging materials to protect the transmission parts. Consider using sturdy cardboard boxes, foam inserts, bubble wrap, or packing peanuts to cushion and secure the Howo transmission parts.
  3. Wrap the parts individually: Wrap each Howo transmission part individually with bubble wrap or foam padding to provide extra protection against shocks and vibrations. This will prevent scratches or potential friction damage.
  4. Consider organizing Howo transmission parts: If there are multiple Howo transmission parts, we will organize them systematically. We will use small plastic bags or compartments within the package to separate the Howo transmission parts and prevent tangling or potential damage from contact.
  5. Proper sealing: After securely placing the Howo transmission parts inside the package, ensure the box is properly sealed to prevent accidental opening or shifting during shipping. Use strong packing tape to seal all edges and corners of the box.
  6. Label the package: Clearly label the package with the appropriate shipping label, including the recipient’s address, contact information, and any other relevant details.

The Howo transmission is a complex and sophisticated system that transfers engine power to a vehicle’s wheels. The following is a brief description of how it works:

  1. Power input: The transmission receives power from the engine through the input shaft. This power is sent to the transmission in the form of rotational energy.
  2. Gear selection: The driver selects the desired gear using the gearshift lever. The Howo transmission typically offers a range of gears, including forward gears for different speeds and a reverse gear for reversing.
  3. Gear ratio: Depending on the selected gear, the transmission engages different sets of gears to achieve the desired gear ratio. This ratio determines the transmission’s speed and torque output.
  4. Clutch engagement: In a manual transmission, the clutch pedal is pressed to momentarily disengage the engine from the transmission while shifting gears. This allows for a smooth transition between gears without damaging the transmission.
  5. Power output: Once the desired gear is engaged, power is transmitted from the transmission to the wheels via the output shaft. The selected gear ratio influences the rotational speed and torque applied to the wheels.
  6. Torque converter (Automatic transmission): In an automatic transmission, a torque converter is used to transfer power from the engine to the transmission. It uses hydraulic fluid to transmit power and allows for smooth, continuous gear changes without the need for manual clutch engagement.
  • In summary, the Howo transmission works by selecting the appropriate gear ratio and engaging the clutch or torque converter to transfer engine power to the wheels, allowing the vehicle to move at different speeds and with different loads.
  • The cost of a Howo transmission can vary depending on several factors, such as the specific model, availability, and the seller. Therefore, it’s difficult to provide an exact price without more specific information. We recommend contacting us for precise pricing details based on your specific needs. We can provide you with up-to-date and accurate information on Howo transmission costs.

To properly use the Howo transmission in a truck, follow these general steps:

  1. Familiarize yourself with the gear selector: The gear selector is usually located on the truck floor or on the steering column. It allows you to choose the desired gear according to your driving needs.
  2. Start the engine: Make sure the truck’s engine is running before attempting to engage the transmission. This can be done by turning the ignition key or pressing the start button, depending on the truck’s design.
  3. Press the clutch pedal (for manual transmission): If your truck has a manual transmission, press the clutch pedal with your foot to disengage the engine from the transmission. This allows for smooth gear changes.
  4. Select the appropriate gear: With the clutch pedal depressed (if applicable), move the gear selector to the desired gear. This will generally involve moving the gear lever forward or backward, or selecting a specific gear number.
  5. Release the clutch pedal (for manual transmission): Slowly release the clutch pedal while gradually applying pressure to the accelerator pedal. This allows the clutch to engage and transfer power from the engine to the transmission, enabling the truck to move.
  6. Accelerate and shift gears (for manual transmission): As you accelerate, monitor the engine RPM (revolutions per minute) and the truck’s speed. When the engine RPM reaches the optimal range for the next gear, depress the clutch pedal again, shift into the appropriate next gear, and release the clutch pedal smoothly while continuing to apply pressure to the accelerator.
  7. Operating the gear selector (for automatic transmission): If your truck has an automatic transmission, gear changes are automatic. Simply move the gear selector to “Drive” or “D” and release the brake pedal to begin moving. The transmission will automatically shift gears according to speed and load conditions.
  • Always remember to follow the specific instructions provided in the truck’s owner’s manual, as the exact operation may vary depending on the model and configuration.
