History of SINOTRUK

China’s independent research and development of trucks started 100 years later than Europe. In 1960, the Yellow River truck was launched, becoming China’s first mass-produced truck, breaking the zero-production record and ushering in a new era for heavy-duty truck manufacturing.

At that time, due to the backwardness of the automobile manufacturing industry, domestic limitations, and limited funds, China National Heavy Duty Truck Group (CNHTC) decided to introduce advanced foreign manufacturing technologies and equipment, gradually improving its production lines, thereby promoting the rapid development of China’s heavy-duty truck industry.

In 2001, the company announced the establishment of CNHTC Group Co., Ltd., and in the same year implemented a Sino-foreign joint venture strategy, accelerating cooperation in investment, technology, products, and markets. Through continuous research and development of production technologies, CNHTC has significantly enhanced its core competitiveness and expanded its domestic and international markets.

Currently, CNHTC Howo is also beginning to integrate innovative internet technologies such as artificial intelligence and cloud computing into its vehicles, exploring a broad path of independent innovation.
